Withdrawal

The student may withdraw from the course by submitting a written letter of withdrawal. Withdrawal from the course is not official until the request has been received by the Director of Training. Refunds are processed according to the refund policy (see below).

Interruption

Occasionally students must leave a course because of illness, pregnancy, or other circumstances. The student may apply in writing for a leave of absence and then may, at the discretion of the Director of Training, rejoin the course the next time it is offered, starting at a point in the course when it would be possible to complete all of the course requirements. (Note that there is no guarantee, implicit or explicit, that a subsequent course will follow a previous schedule.) In the case of interruption of a summer course, in which more than one year elapses between one course cycle and the next, special review procedures may be required. An interruption from the course is not official until the request has been properly approved and has the signature of the Director of Training. If the interruption is for longer than a year, the student must consult with the Director of Training and may be required to re-apply for admission into the full length of the course.

Dismissal

Students may be asked to discontinue the course for medical, psychological, academic, or other cogent reasons. Dismissal occurs only after application of the appeals policy. This policy is kept on file in the office of IMTI and is available to students.

Refund Policy

The IMTI refund policy is set by the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative (NPEC) and no portion of the Tuition Deposit, or Annual Tuition, will be refunded or canceled in the event of my absence, withdrawal, or dismissal from the Training Institute, except as follows:

  1. All monies paid by an enrolled student, including application fees and the tuition deposit, are refunded if requested within three (3) business days after signing an enrollment contract, and making a payment of Tuition/Tuition Deposit. After three (3) business days, the application fee is non-refundable.
  2. A termination of student enrollment is considered to have occurred on the earliest of the following dates:   1. The date of receipt of written notice of cancellation of enrollment from the student.  2. Ten (10) school days following the last date of attendance.  3. The last day of attendance, if the school terminates the student.
  3. When official withdrawal is granted and has been properly approved, a refund of tuition will be made within forty-five (45) days of the date of withdrawal. Refunds are determined based on the proration of tuition and percentage of program completed at withdrawal, up until 50% of the program.

This policy is based on continuation of courses offered by the International Montessori Training Institute (IMTI), as each course offered is based on the number of enrolled students. Students are advised to seek a tuition insurance policy to safeguard against unanticipated injury, illness or death.

The International Montessori Training Institute is not responsible for loan arrangements and financial obligations of students related to other grantors or lenders.
